The strange business of selling fakes, forgeries and other concoctions attributed to Adolf Hitler (1889-1945) and other Nazi criminals, inclusive the trade in some authentic material.

Introduction

In 1959 the Austrian author "Dr. Johannes Von Müllern-Schönhausen", a pseudonym of the former Nazi journalist Hans Müllern, published a book in which many concoctions about Hitler as well as a great number of reproductions of fake Hitler documents, drawings, paintings, and even a poem were published. The book was titled Die Losung des Rätsel's Adolf Hitler (The solution of the enigma of Adolf Hitler) and is used ever since as a source book by the not so trustworthy part of the Hitler biographers.

The fake material depicted in this work is easily identified, because the forger (Müller or a accomplice) has marked each work with a "HBH" mark - which at first sight looks like a stamp print, but on closer inspection turns out to be a hand drawn imitation stamp print.

The clumsy forger has even accidently written on at least one occasion "HBB" in stead of "HBH".
