Good news from Berlin

Good news from Berlin: the documentation "Hitler - how could it happen" in the Berlin Story Bunker can be visited again. This impressive exhibition tells, via numerous photos (many of which are unpublished), posters and short explanatory texts the story of the rise and fall of Hitler and National Socialism, in a building well suited for this task: a huge air raid bunker, built in 1941-1943, which provided shelter for 12,000 people.

Museum director Wieland Giebel: "The documentary "Hitler - how could it happen" covers more than 3,000 square metres over three floors of a former air-raid shelter from 1942. 38 thematic areas provide a comprehensive explanation of this bunker, the terror of the National Socialists, the rise of the party and Hitler's last hideout, the Führerbunker.

How did it happen that so many voted for Hitler? How did he become a Nazi? How did he come to power? How did anti-Semitism lead to concentration camps and the Holocaust?

Why did generals and soldiers go along with it until the end?
The suicide of the dictator Hitler effectively ended the bloodiest war in history.

Texts, photos, films - the documentation is larger than visitors can imagine. The visit usually lasts 2-3 hours."

The bunker houses also the Berlin Museum, which gives a very fine impression of the history of the German capital.
